Adoptee Connections

Beyond Adopteen

For Adult Adoptees

About

It is our hope that Beyond Adopteen can bring annual retreats, community events, and tour trips to adopted individuals, ages 18+ and/or 21+ as our program develops. We are dedicated to providing ongoing community connection opportunities and resources for adult adoptees, whether they are navigating new worlds, transitioning between jobs, or starting a family of their own.

Whether you connect with us through one of our six Beyond Adopteen chapters around the country, our quarterly virtual conversations, or at our bi-annual Adult Adopteen Retreat, we hope you find a community that helps buoy your aspirations and support your ongoing adoption journey.

Beyond Adopteen is built for adult adoptees, by adult adoptees.

FAQ

Something else on your mind?

For those planning to catch the Group Shuttle to the retreat grounds, please be sure to fly into Denver International Airport (DIA).

Your flight needs to arrive DIA by 9:30AM on Friday, August 9th, at the latest, in order to give yourself enough time to ride the free train to Union Station and catch the Group Shuttle.

For departures, please try your best to find a flight that departs after 12:00PM on Monday, August 12th.

A survey will be sent out to all registrants that will allow each to indicate their hobbies, interests, and any roommate preferences (gender, early bird/night owl, etc.) to help our planning committee coordinate shared accommodations. Comfort and safety are our top priority and we will do our best to ensure that each participant is in the best available rooming arrangement possible.

Beyond Adopteen Retreat refund policy is as follows:

  • Any cancelation within 31 days prior to Retreat is guaranteed a 100% full refund.
  • Any cancelation between 30-14 days prior to Retreat will be refunded to the best of our ability, minus any non-refundables that have already been paid by The Park to any venues and merchants.
  • Any cancelation between 13-0 days prior to Retreat will receive 25% refund.

**If a camper is unable to attend Camp-Conference due to any unforeseen emergency or distress before or during Retreat, we will do our best to refund as much as possible.

For fliers joining us on the Group Shuttle at Union Station, you may either book a rideshare to Union Station from Denver International Airport (DIA) or catch the lightrail train (A Line) directly from DIA to Union Station.

Uber/Lyft

The cost of an Uber or Lyft from DIA to Union Station can range from $42 – $52 and is about a 30-minute ride.

Rideshare pickup can be found by following sign to Baggage Claim & Ground Transportation. Exit the doors from baggage claim and walk to Island 5 (you will see signs for Rideshare Pickup).

Catching the Train

To catch the A Line from DIA to Union Station, follow signs for “Trains to City” once you’ve made your way to Baggage Claim & Ground Transportation. Signs will lead you toward the Westin Airport Hotel. Head down the escalators to the Transit Center where you can purchase a ticket for the A Line to Union Station. *Please note that rides on A Line are expected to be free in August as it is Green Month in Denver, but it is not guaranteed. If not free, this ride will cost $10).

If desired, you can pre-purchase a ticket for the A Line using the RTD MyRide App

Trains leave every 15 minutes between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m. and every 30 minutes outside of those hours. The ride will have 6 stops between DIA and Union Station and takes about 37 minutes.
